Travis Ivey, a fifth generation Wyoming native, was born in Cheyenne, WY in 1978. His paintings reflect the beauty of the modern west and the impacts of development on the landscape.

'I often find inspiration for my paintings in the coal mines and gas fields of Wyoming. These places drew me into landscape painting six years ago, because of their dynamic prsesence and powerful compositions. The natural beauty is very often contrasted with drilling rigs and freight trains, which have a profound influence on my work.'

While Ivey is drawn to the more industrial environments, he enjoys exploring opportunities to paint a wide range of subjects. Painting en plein air has helped him continue to learn new ways to develop stylistically, and maintain a fresh perspective in his studio work.

Travis Ivey's work is in numerous public and private collections including the University of Wyoming and The Wyoming State Museum.
